Happy New Year!
So today Brian and I did a post-Christmas workout together in the super-sunny-not-wintry weather outside (Oklahoma weather is so weird - LOL). I created a cardio/strength/core workout in our driveway that had us doing sets of strength + core with our equipment in between running laps around our very hilly block.
We started later than we wanted (had to pickup Jason’s prescription meds in the morning and there were some complications), but we got our iced water, turned on some workout music, put on our shoes, grabbed a cute headband (well, I did. Brian’s curls always look good) and got to it.
And guys.
I-felt-it.
I felt every moment of I-have-had-too-many-Christmas-treats. I felt every moment of hot sun, red face, and sweat dripping down my sides. It was definitely more grit than glory. But we talked each other through it - encouraging and pressing through each exercise.
And then we finished.
Together.
We came in, ate lunch, took a shower, and I came to write this blog post. Because as I was working out, the thought came to me that finishing something is very often a matter of deciding and then acting on that decision.
Launching not just this blog, but our whole supporter raising journey, has been a continuous process of asking God what to do, deciding to trust God when He speaks, and reaching out to ask you to join us.
Very gritty. Not always pretty.
But together, we can finish.
Believing and asking God for ANYone reading this - that whatever God is speaking over you and your family in the New Year will get a new boost of faith. That you will believe God and will go after what He says, even in your imperfection! Happy New Year to you and yours - and hey, if one of our your New Year’s Goals involves a workout or two…..come on and join us!
It’s always better when we sweat together.
